Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. The most common job I do for my clients is portraiture. As weddings are not an everyday occurrence, I am generally hired as a family photographer, senior photographer, etc. These are more intimate and are also a blast!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. You obviously like their work or you wouldn't be thinking about them, but the MOST important aspect should be is do you feel comfortable with them? If not, you may want to reconsider. They will be there on your most important day and you want the best results you can get without having to worry.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. When taking portrait pictures outside, ensure your subjects are facing away from the sun, and use fill flash for the brighter times of the day so their face isn't shaded.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Creativity. While interacting with my clients, the ideas can really start to unfold, and then you get some of the funnest notions going.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. There is a common misconception that just because you have a camera, you are a professional photographer. There is so much more to it than the possession of an expensive camera. Customer service, knowing your product, and more customer service are some of the basics - and let's not forget, do you take a good picture? In today's photographer market, the most important element just may be this: Do you like the photographer? and surprisingly, the second most important element to consider is: Do you like their work? Thoughts to ponder!
Q. What is your greatest strength?
A. I love what I do. I'm also very flexible with what I can do and my pricing. I am open to what my clients are asking and willing to meet their expectations.
