Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I would recommend that they look for quality pet care providers that have the experience and processes put in place to make sure they are prepared for any emergency. Although hiring a friend or neighbor to watch your pets might be cost effective it is not ideal due to a larger margin of error. Thia could create an un favorable situation such as a lost pet or even sick pet.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are many people out there that will come and care for your pet dirt cheap but all to often these people tend to cut corners and not fulfill their obligations. This could be not staying during the promised time, not cleaning up after themselves or improperly administering medication. This person will be in your house while you are gone with access to many of your valued items including your pets, make sure the person you hire is a professional and has a reputation to uphold.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Make sure they have experience in the type of animal you need cared for. Find out what their plan B is if they have an emergency and cant make it to care for your pets. Also ask about their business and what their expectations are of you.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Something that many people dont think about is the worst case scenario. I need to know what process you have in place if in the even your pet gets sick while you are away. I would of course try and contact you but in the event you cannot be contacted I need to know the following:

How much should I authorize? What vet or emergency vet do you use? Does your pet have any allergies?

These are all important questions that are written into the service contract that many people are suprised with. Please take a moment and talk to you significant other about what your wishes are for your pet in the even of an emergency!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I have to say its the pets. I love getting to know a pet and building a special bond. There are many clients of mine that I cannot wait to see them again because they make me laugh or maybe they are great cuddlers. I am lucky that I get to do something that I love, and that love is such a big part of what I do.
