Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. There's always a measure of trust in hiring a chefs. Because of travel distances, it's not often possible for me to prepare a tasting menu or even do a site visit. But I've been in business for four years, and I've tackled some complicated menus in tiny kitchens (including an outdoor rental kitchen for a wedding!), so I can pretty much handle any situation. As to menu tasting, the testimonials on my website can assure any new clients that the gourmet meal I prepare will be of the highest four-star restaurant quality.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. There's an element of Top Chef in every menu I prepare at someone's home. Not only do I enjoy the challenge of creating a memorable meal, but it's great fun for me to talk with the host and guests, get to know them, their likes and dislikes, and watch (and listen) as they experience my food for the first time.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What is the meaning of the name of your company, Divoon Dining?

When I was first incorporating my business, I wanted a name that people could remember. Divine Dining was suggested to me, but I thought it's got to be better than "divine," it's DIVOON!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I recently catered a wedding for 100 guests. It was under extreme circumstances as the kitchen needed to be completely rented and set up outside, behind the home, where the wedding was being held, but also as it was an old house, the electricity fluctuated throughout the day and night, adding an enormous challenge to an already stressful situation. But the food came out on time and was plentiful and delicious, as well as beautifully presented. The bride and groom were ecstatic.
