This company has a long history of good work, reliable and friendly people get the job done. I have heard many good things and finally needed something myself. I thought getting a pool dug would be a big and expensive job but they got the job done in a timely manner and i was swimming in no time... I am very happy with this company and would recomend them to family and friends. Thanks J&S for your prompt service and making my family's summer more enjoyable.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Operated Backhoe work. We dig for plumbers, electricans, concrete companys footings, etc. etc. However we do own Bobcat with accessories. Skiploader and of course the backhoe.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. To make sure they are fully insured and that they have references to give. Otherwise, you might get someone who does the work in a sloppy manner or takes too long to get the work done. You should ask if they have pictures of previous projects to go with the references. That would be a big help in choosing a operated equipment rental company.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Not just anybody can come out to a job site and know how to do the whole job from start to finish. Whether it be a new construction or selective demolition. Scott has done construction work all his life.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. It is best to give us the plans via email. That way we can give a true and correct estimate for your particular job. We also can do a job walk and physically look at the proposed work to be done. However, if all you are looking for is an hourly rate we can send you our rate sheet via fax or email.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Scott has over 40 years experience in
excavating, grading & demolition. He has experience on every type of construction equipment. We have been superintendants so we know how to stage projects to get the most out of your money.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. We love meeting new people.
We like driving by projects that we had a hand in creating, then we reminiscence about that job.
We have done so many jobs throughout the years that we remember almost every one.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. We were called out for three days of backhoe work, and ended up working for every subcontractor that had any dirt work on the project. We gave all of the contractors a $5.00 per hour discount. We gave so many discounts that we were named as a major contributor and got our names honored on the front gates. We were very honored that we could help children we didn't even know have at least one week at a camp.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Anybody can rent a piece of heavy equipment and get it to do what you want it to do. However, If you want the job done right and efficiently you need someone with experience to operate the equipment. Scott can make equipment dance. He has so much experience that he makes the work look easy.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Scott played with the Tonka line of heavy equipment toys when he was a young boy. In High School, he took horticulture and liked it. Then a neighbor had a summer job for Scott, which was a demo & land grubbing job. Then one day Sterling Holloway let Scott as a 15 year old kid get on the crawler dozer to knock down the trees, and he has been hooked ever since.
As for myself, I was a printing press operator and I worked long hours. In 1993 when Scotts boss at the time wanted him to become an owner operator, so she could get the DWP contract. He needed help to do the paperwork. That is when I got involved in the business.
