Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Private lessons for kids and adults. Group lessons are more rare, though we enjoy teaching them.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. We advice students to tell a music teacher as much as possible about their needs and what they are looking for before meeting the teacher, and to speak to the teacher on the phone if possible, to ensure a good match. It can be good to attend a performance of the music teacher, to make sure that you like their playing style.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. It helps us if you tell us as much about yourself and your previous musical experience as possible, like what instruments you have played before, for how long, whether you have read sheet music or tab, or anything music related you have done in your life. It also helps us to know a child students age. We like to know what you are interested in, if you have specific things you want to work on, or skills you want to study.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We offer exceptional music lessons because all our teachers have years of experience as music educators (all have over 5 years experience), who have taught a wide variety of students, of all ages and levels. All our teachers are professional performers, and our classical music teachers have college music educations. Our school has a philosophy of teaching with positive reinforcement, and comprehensive musicianship, our classical students learn to read music well, and understand music theory. Our bluegrass and popular style students can play in bands, and jam. We share our love of music with our students, and help students to enjoy all the benefits of being a musician, beyond simply playing an instrument.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. All of our teachers love music, and love to share what they love with students. We are all proud to pass on respected music traditions, and pass on our knowledge that we have developed over the years. We love knowing that we are teaching people something that they can enjoy for years to come, and that has the possibility of bringing many benefits to their life.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Who are the teachers at the school?

Victor Skidanenko, Jesse Ward, and Margaret Green

Where are you located?

In Palo Alto, in the Barron Park neighborhood

Do you teach adults?
Yes

Do you teach children?
Yes, 6 years and older

What method books do you use for classical violin?
Suzuki and Strictly Strings

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. We all played music because we loved it, and became teachers so that we could work in a field where we could share our passion.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. We charge $30 for full hour lessons and $20 for half hour lessons at our location. We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, and require 24 hours notice to cancel a lesson for a non-emergency reason, or the lessons must still be payed for. We offer group lessons on Banjo, Guitar, and Mandolin for up to three students, for $20 per student, per hour. We offer a free trial half hour lesson for potential Guitar, Banjo, and Mandolin students. We offer house-call Beginner Piano, Cello, and Bass lessons, for $35 per hour or $25 per half hour.
