Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We stage vacant and occupied homes for home sellers and real estate agents. In addition we stage homes for bank owned properties, property managers and asset managers. We also provide comprehensive home staging consultations for home sellers that want to do some or all of the work themselves.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Not all home stagers are created equal. There is no government oversight of the home staging industry and no certification by an independent national organization. Make sure your home stager is very experienced and insured. Ask for references and ask to see the stager's portfolio of recently completed jobs. Check out their website to ensure they demonstrate a high level of competency and expertise.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love helping my clients to sell their homes faster and for a higher price. And I love taking an average home and turning it into a showcase house that appeals to the greatest number of potential buyers. Most of all, I love when the houses I stage sell quickly, netting the seller a higher sales price.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. It's always very gratifying when a home owner sees their home for the first time after we have finished staging it. Most often we hear "why didn't we do this while we were still living here" or "I never knew my house could look so amazing". One client told us she felt like she was the winner of an HGTV contest where you win a total home makeover.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Our pricing is based upon the amount of furniture we are going to be bringing into the home, the location and the approximate listing price. The location and listing price tell us how upscale the furniture needs to be, but doesn't determine the staging price. Its all part of the puzzle. A comprehensive home staging estimate starts at $350 for houses up to 2,500 sq. ft. We spend 1-2 hours with you in your home and create a list of to-do items to get your home market ready. Vacant home staging starts at $2800 for 60 days. Most of our staging projects cost $3,000-$5,000 for 60 days (or less) and include the furniture, artwork, accessories, staging labor and destaging. Once I see your home, I will give you a firm price in writing. No 2 homes are alike so prices will vary.
