Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Before you embark on converting your static (HTML) site to a WordPress (dynamic) site/marketing tool, the very first thing you need to determine is your Goal: is it to increase your client base? sell a service or product? be an information source for consumers/patients/clients/the general public? Whatever your ultimate Goal, it must be clearly defined before we can choose the appropriate site design and functionality, and before we can determine your target audience for social media. Girl Friday Virtual Marketing interviews you extensively to help you focus on what your goals are, and how to achieve them.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Did you know that there are over a trillion websites on the internet? How does a small business or entrepreneur get found online by people searching for exactly the product or service you offer? How can a small business compete with huge corporations that can afford all the Google search results money can buy? You can start by having a WordPress website that functions as a MARKETING TOOL.
Girl Friday is not a website designer...she is a website Developer who happens to make beautiful designs!
I Develop a plan that is customized to your Goal, and then I choose the appropriate tools to accomplish that Goal.
With a WordPress website, your product and services Content (text, product descriptions, images, video, music, event calendars, testimonials, etc.) attract visitors who are searching for you using Google and other search engines. WordPress is very search engine friendly.
Girl Friday is different because we place the functionality of your site – how it attracts visitors, and which actions visitors take once they land on your site - as the number one priority in your site's design.
And we happen to have the creative ability as well as the functional abilities...so we think we're pretty unique!
Lastly: we make Marketing FUN!! We know that marketing is a time investment as well as a financial investment in your company's bottom line...and so we try to make the entire process fun and easy.
As Girl Friday likes to say: "It's not rocket surgery, for goodness sakes! I mean...brain science...or is it rocket science and brain surgery? That's it! Oh....you know what I mean!"
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. I often receive emails or questions on Linkedin or Facebook that ask: "What is WordPress and why are you so adamant about using it as a marketing tool?" My answer is this: "WordPress is a platform for websites that turns your company content – your products, descriptions, images, music, video, etc. – into a Marketing Tool that ENGAGES potential clients/customers in a conversation about who you are and what you offer. With the advent of social media, and in the current economic climate, consumers are holding service providers and product makers accountable for their offerings. With WordPress, you can communicate – and receive feedback – through the use of a blog and/or social media....WordPress is very friendly! And because WordPress started as a blog platform, and is built on content (words), it is very Google and SEO friendly as well. This is important because it levels the playing field for small businesses to be found in search engines. You no longer have to "pay per click" to be seen on the first page of Google results. Use your WordPress site as a Content Management Tool, and as a Marketing Tool, and you WILL see an increase in traffic and engagement with your site.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I am a member of WebDesign.com, which is a continuing educational/training resource for WordPress site developers. Girl Friday has participated in countless hours of WordPress and plugin training, often tests new WordPress tools as they are launched, and stays up-to-date with the latest tools and trends in WordPress and social media.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. Girl Friday Virtual Marketing works on a retainer basis, or on a project basis. We do not charge by the hour.
In order to give my clients the best Value for their marketing dollar, I interview them extensively about their Goals for their website and marketing plan. I then write a proposal with a "menu" of options; these options may include a WordPress website and/or blog, a social media plan, an email campaign plan, print materials, etc.
Each proposal is customized to the client's needs, and a monthly retainer, or a project cost, is estimated. My clients always know what their marketing investment will cost, and there are no hidden or recurring costs.
Maintenance contracts are available for one-off website projects, or, we train you how to manage your WordPress site yourself once it is launched. We offer three months of free email customer service once your site is launched.
