Desert Yoga Therapy is a small yoga studio housed within Eisenhower Women's Health in Rancho Mirage, CA. I offer semi-private group classes, one-on-one private yoga and yoga therapy, group retreats in California and Australia, and various workshops throughout the year.
Students thrive in the intimate setting, as I am able to connect with everyone in class and "keep tabs" on any particular injuries or concerns. The practice is for women only and is set in a beautiful space.
I have been working with individuals for 30 years and am able to create an atmosphere and program that truly serves the student. Each session is focused on expanding awareness and balancing the connection between our body, mind and spirit.

I have been attending Desert Yoga Therapy for about 5 years. I love it because it is small with lots of individualized help. The class I attend is gentle yoga and even gentle is sometimes too much for some physical challenges I have, but Jayne is quick to give me modified positions. There is a lot of emphasis on breathing and yoga as a philosophy - a centering experience - being one with the universe and being in the now, and not some rigorous physical competition.

Yoga is much more than a form of exercise for Jayne, it is a way of life, of being, that is infused into every class and imparted to every student along with the specifics of each Yoga position. She is perfectly in tune with every student's needs and abilities, and enables each of us to attain the maximum benefit from each class. I've taken Yoga before with other instructors, but never had the physical results or achieved the serenity I get from her classes. I HIGHLY recommend her!

A. Look for how much individual attention you are able to receive when attending classes. How much does the instructor about managing special needs and conditions or injuries? Look for a class where you feel looked after, supported and completely safe.
A. Yoga instructors come with varying degrees of experience and education. It's important to associate with an instructor who is continually studying, upgrading and learning. Some people can claim to be a "therapist" but what does this mean in the field of yoga? Ensure they have undergone appropriate training, have solid experience and know their scope of practice.
A. What is your background? How long have you been teaching? What types of classes do you teach? Do you work 1-1 with people? How large are your classes? Do you have a referral network? What type of students attend your classes? Are you able to work with people who have particular challenges such as seniors, people recovering from injury or illness or people with emotional issues?
