Clarity Learning is an in-home tutoring company that has served Orange County, California since 2001. We tutor all subjects, pre-K through adult, and offer SAT/ACT prep and homework support services.

As the founder and owner of Clarity Learning, my background includes volunteering in my parents’ classrooms, teaching in my own classroom, and tutoring privately. With those 20 years of insights to guide me, I interview and screen every tutor myself. I look for tutors with humor, empathy, mentor capability, and creativity, as well as content expertise.

With our track record of excellent student and tutor matches, prompt customer service, and various payment options, be sure to call or e-mail Clarity Learning as you research tutors for your child or yourself!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure that any tutor you hire teaches study skills and strategies for that class as well as content. The student needs to know how to continue studying on the days the tutor isn't there.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Every student needs to learn how to quiz himself to ensure that he knows the information. Your tutor can teach you different ways to self-quiz. Parents, you can also learn how to make quizzes for your children.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask your potential tutor what his or her teaching style is. A tutor should be equipped with STUFF (white boards, pens, simple manipulates...nothing fancy!) as well as knowledge. Find out if your tutor can help with multiple topics in case someone else in the home needs help now and then. However, confirm if the tutor or agency charges different rates for different topics/levels. (Clarity Learning charges the same rate for all topics and levels.)
