Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Since the inception of Denice M. Grogan Business Consulting, I have done accounting, advertising, marketing and mass mailing. The way I see it, if I can help you make your business better, then that is what I am here for!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I work very hard for my clients. I am a perfectionist and if I am not able to do something for my clients, I work very hard to find someone or something that can.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The ability to work with many different types of clients and professions allows me to meet lots of interesting people.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "What do you do?" My answer is, " Pretty much anything you need!"

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I was referred to a client by a CPA firm. The client in question was concerned that she had not been using her Quickbooks software correctly. I did an hour of evaluation on books and she was doing wonderfully on her own. I told her that she didn't need my services and that she should take the money she was going to spend on my services and take a vacation!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I have approximately 15 years experience in many different business environments and am able to adapt to any given situation with ease.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. In 2005, my son was born a month and a half early and the company that I was working for as a business manager needed me to stay on as a consultant to get them through the transition of my leaving the company. I stayed on with them for approximately 6 months and decided that maybe I could do the same type of consulting for other companies.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I belong to a couple of Profession Women's associations that allow me to stay up to date with the trends in the business world.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. In the next couple of years, I am hoping to complete my Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Corporate Rate: $50.00 / per hour
Private individual Rate: $30.00 / per hour

It really depends on the type of work that is requested. I prefer to Proposal for Work for each request that I receive so that everyone is clear on the cost of the project.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Make sure that you understand that when you are dealing with other people's financial situation, that you take great care to make them aware of any changes that could affect them.
