A. Learning to Sail in the Central bay is like learning to drive at the Indy 500. The south San Francisco Bay offers better conditions for beginners- good wind, flat waters, less traffic and warmer temperatures. All this makes for a more fun learning experience and a better chance you will continue sailing well beyond your first year. After practice, you will enjoy sailing up north where the conditions are more challenging.
