I contacted Chris to build a 24x8 structure. After the third payment, Chris disappeared. He came back over three weeks later, worked two days and then said he was over budget and couldn't do anything else without more money. He has said he was in the hospital so we were trying to be patient, but when he said he couldn't finish I reviewed receipts and I found out he had bought ladders, work horses, tree trimmers and other tools for the job that he took with him/came back to retrieve after I said we could not pay any more money. I didn't think it was right for me to purchase supplies for him to use at other jobs but he said that's how he does it because he doesn't mark up cost for materials.... BUT how was I supposed to know that? If I had known that, I would have known his original quote was bs....because it didn't have ladders on it! The horrible thing of it is that so much of the work that he just left were things that could have been finished without purchasing any more materials. Many of the materials he did purchase were ruined when he left them out in the rain and sun - maybe there went some of the budget?! Our entire unit was flooded because concrete curbs had not been put around the entire perimeter and no thresh holds were installed. As opposed to cutting out the wet drywall like he said he would and replacing, he just left it and now there is mold growing everywhere. We are left with an extensive list of things to fix from putting vent holes and finishing sealing in the attic (which should have been done before the roof was put on), to cutting out one to two feet of drywall out of the entire inside and replacing due to the flooding, installing thresh holds, putting in attic covers, texture, paint, frp board, sealing concrete, finishing the outside and the list just goes on. I feel this goes way beyond an over-budget issue. I am very unhappy with the state he left this project in. To see pictures of our project on FB as if it went well or was any kind of success just kind of was the last straw and I had to leave an honest review.
