Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Vacant home stagings. We specialize in vacant home stagings and do them very well. When hiring a home stager make sure they have plenty of photos for you to look at and get a sense and feel of their style. The best place to start your home stager search is the internet. If the website isn't to your liking, chances are the actual staging or service isn't going to be either.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do not soley focus on the price. Focus on the home stagers successes, style and statistics.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our Statistics say it all: In 2011 Stage Right Design, Inc. staged 123 vacant homes in the Sacramento Tri-County area. 96% of those homes went pending or were sold within the first 60 days. You want to check out Home Stagers Websites, make sure they have a current online portfolio, make sure they are licensed and insured and make sure they area a credible business with proven customer service and proven results. Never be afraid to ask all these questions and more. There are a lot of "hobbiest" stagers out there.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Bringing a huge value add by helping Investors, Realtors and Home Sellers sell their homes quickly and for top dollar!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "Is home staging expensive?", Not as expensive as lowering your asking price by $10,000 +.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That home staging really does work!! When we sell a home we are not only selling brick and mortar, we are selling an emotion. Staging helps set that emotion. It also allows potential buyers to envision how the home could look.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I worked for Merrill Lynch for 10 years...when I was layed off back in 2007. I decided to take the plunge and start my own company. It has been a huge success, thank goodness I got laid off!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. We took a victorian home that had sat on the market for 1 year. We staged the home with an updated look in order to show potential buyers that just because it was an older home does not mean it needs to be decorated as such. The home went pending the first weekend it was listed.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Our pricing system is not complicated at all. The cost of a vacant home staging is based on size of the home and which rooms we determine need to be staged in order to create that fabulous emotion, that people buy on!

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Don't run out and buy a bunch of furniture, get certified as a home stager and take fabulous photos!
