Survey findings and summary
Thumbtack.com, in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, has released the new results from the second annual Thumbtack.com Small Business Survey. The 2013 study draws upon data from over 7,000 small business owners nationwide and shows that Sacramento again received a failing grade from small business owners.
Some of the key findings for Sacramento include:
- Small businesses ranked Sacramento in the penultimate position among major cities nationwide. Although Sacramento struggled in most categories, among Californian cities, it placed second to San Francisco for ease of starting a new business.
- California earned a 'D' grade, up from an 'F' in 2012. Although the state struggled overall, it ranked above average for its online resources for small businesses.
