Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. One of the most important things to do when booking a DJ or MC is to be sure to ask to talk to one that will be providing the entertainment at your party or wedding (not just some sales person). Be sure your DJ's name is included on your contract. This will be the one you will be working with. The last thing you want is a surprise at your party or wedding when someone else shows up. Clients have stated that the contribution which disc jockey services made towards the overall success of their special event was at least 80%! A Wedding Ceremony and Reception's success or failure depends upon the quality of services you receive from your Disc Jockey.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Price! Just because you are paying someone $2,500 does not mean they are any better than someone who is more affordable. You be the judge, meet with a number of DJ's and see what each of them have to offer, and what they charge. Sometimes the most expensive is not necessarily the best. We all want the best at a price that is affordable.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Be careful dealing with the many subcontractors and agencies out there. Don't get caught in the middle with sales people, office staff, part-time DJs. Many of these companies switch DJ's on you at the last minute because they have scheduled to many events on the same day. With DJ West Entertainment you speak directly to the owner operator and get one on one personalized service. Always ask "Am I speaking with the DJ who will be at my event ? ". If not, ask to talk with them and set up a consultation. Always meet with DJ who will be performing at your event and make sure their name is on the contract. If they don't want to or can't meet with you find another DJ.
