I hired Jeff to replace a fuse box in my 1940 home. The entire house was knob and tube wiring. He ended up changing the Meter to allow for additional circuits and then ran all the sub panel feeds to the new box. The original fuse panel was in a small closet, and I guess the electrical code called for something to be done about that.
I am very impressed with the upgrade it looks very professional, and I can tell it was well thought out. Jeff does good work. I will be recommending him as my Electrician in the future.

A. Always use a licensed Electrician. Licensed Electricians have the experience to get the job done right, and the knowledge to do it safe and to code. Other electricians may be able to do wiring and make lights come on, but they don't always do it safely, and they may miss important details along the way. Electrical systems require maintenance, and an unlicensed Electrician may overlook a potentially hazardous situation while doing your work. Also check your Electricians licensed to see that it is current. If a license in not current, that Electrician may not be bonded either. Protect yourself and your investment.
A. You can make minor repairs yourself such as changing a fixture, switch, or electrical outlet safely by turning off the main circuit breaker. Just be sure to re-install your fixture or devices in exactly the same manner as it came apart. Wiring can be tricky depending on what method was used, and there are many different ways to wire things. Just because wiring looks the same, doesn't mean it is the same. Take notes, and label if you’re unsure. Don't forget that the most important thing about making electrical connections is making good ones. Loose connections cause fires, so make sure the wires are twisted together before putting on a wire nut, and get those screw terminations tight. One of the Electricians rules is "a good connection never fails, but a bad connection always fails"
A. I enjoy making homes more enjoyable for my customers. Lighting plays a big role in the look and feel of a house. So every time I get to add lighting I take it seriously. I like my work to stand out. I feel great when a finished job looks well thought out and functions well, and most of all, when my customers love it too.
