Introduction: Matthew Crider represents individuals at every stage of family law cases, from pre-divorce discussions through divorce cases, including trial, and enforcement and modification of existing custody or support orders. Matthew sees his relationship with clients to be that of a counselor. His philosophy is to anticipate and find solutions to clients' problems and to help clients achieve their goals. He is particularly adept at devising creative solutions to complex issues. He focuses on preventative law directed at addressing legal problems before the parties find that they must resort to time-consuming and expensive litigation. If litigation is required, however, he is well equipped to vigorously represent the clients' interest in court. At the same time, he is alert for opportunities to settle litigation and thereby to reduce the clients' costs. Matthew is an active member of the legal community, a former Treasurer of the Placer County Bar Association, and is a former Chairman of the Northern California Lawyer Access, a non-profit lawyer referral service. He is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Placer County Bar Association and the Sacramento County Bar Association, and is a member of the Yolo County Bar Association. Matthew is licensed to practice law in California and Texas. Matthew speaks frequently to public and private groups on issues of family law.
