Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The most common types of jobs I do are residential remodeling.Single family homeowners in need of improving their existing residence. This may be just upgrading 1 room to redoing the entire home. It could also be upgrading 1 bathroom or redoing all bathrooms, kitchen and utility room with new vinyl flooring. Or maybe redoing the family room with new laminate/vinyl flooring.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. The first bit of advice I would offer to them is , when they are qualifying someone to do work for you it is wise to make sure they are a licensed contractor in the state their working in. Also, if they have employees working for them they need to carry workers compensation. They should ask the contractor or installer how long they have been doing the kind of work they are looking to have done, or what kind of experience they have.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Rogers Flooring Company treats each new customer with respect as well as keeping the area of their home that I'm working in, neat and clean as I can , as the install progresses. I also envision each job as though it's being done in my own home. Rogers Flooring Company will use the manufacture installation recommendations, as well as the manufacture required adhesives and seam sealers, to ensure the customers warranty for the installation and products installed. I will also ask the customer if they have any questions either with the install or in caring for their new floor.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What I like most about my job is that I'm in the customers home for a short period of time to complete the installation process, and while I'm there I'm going to treat their home with respect and for the installation to be done as though it were in my own home. Another aspect that I like about my job is that when I'm doing a final walk through with the customer and they are generally so impressed with the change that by just adding new flooring makes in their home. They are generally very complementary and thankful when the project has come to an end, this is very rewarding to a craftsman.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I don't think it was my decision to get in the flooring trade, but rather my fathers need for me to help him. He had been the President of the Carpet,Linoleum, and Soft Tile Layers Union Local #1237 for 10 years. He became injured and needed help when I was in the 10th grade (1969). I have been a flooring installer ever since.
