I come from a family of florists. My mom has been designing for the last 31 years and my sister for 15. I have been in the wedding side of the business for the last 12 years now. I love to help make dreams come true, even if you're on a budget.

Flowers shouldn't make you take out a loan just to make you happy. My shop is built in my garage to cut out all the high mark ups that the shops charge. I am only an event designer, so all the flowers are made to order. Most of my bridal bouquets are approx $125, bridesmaids usually run $45-70, bouts $8-12 and corsages $18-25.
I have lots of ideas on making more inexpensive centerpieces...to save you a ton on them. We have lots of ways to use the centerpieces down the aisle on stands so that you have both ceremony and reception flowers.

I'm very competitive, so please check out my site.

I have tons of pictures, but don't always have the time to put them all up...please contact me and I'll be happy to send you a bunch:)

Consults are free...just contact me for any pictures, quotes or a consult:)
I'm a full service shop, so you can pick up the flowers or I can deliver and set the whole thing up for you...even your favors too.

Please scroll down under my questions and answers to see many customer testimonials. Thumbtack doesn't put the reviews and testimonials together.
Thank you so much!

Tracy did the floral arrangements for my mother's memorial service, and they were elegant and beautiful. She was very helpful and understanding during our family's difficult time, and offered great ideas. She's a very nice person, easy to work with, and very professional. We look forward to working with her again in the future...hopefully under happier circumstances, as her wedding flowers look absolutely gorgeous.

I stumbled across Tracy and her floral business, Budding Events, by accident---Craig's List when I was starting to plan my wedding. I thot "what the heck, give her a try"...boy am I glad I did. She was so creative and flexible, showed me alternatives without "forcing" her ideas, could work up from vague concepts I presented and then I thot "ok hang on for sticker shock!" (I had gotten bids from 3 other designers). Never happened. In fact, I was able to do additional floral work and STILL be under my budget. Tracy did exactly what she said she would and when.....I did not have to look over my shoulder and worry. AND of course, the flowers.......stunning. EVERYONE commented on her work and 2 others friends have used her since for weddings and funerals. She is the best kept secret in SACTO...but not for long!

Tracy of Budding Events was the florist I used for my June 4, 2011 wedding. Right away, I was impressed with her upbeat personality, knowledge of flowers and exceptional prices.
Unfortunately, she accidently pinned the men's bouts on the wrong wedding party right before my wedding. This alone caused much unwanted stress before I was to walk down the aisle. Thankfully, she was able to quickly make new bouts and arrived at my hotel room with elegant-looking flowers, so I was quick to let her accident go and move on. While walking to the church my bouquet flowers started falling off my bouquet and the entire bouquet actually started to fall apart. I had to readjust the bouquet and cinch it together again. After the ceremony my husband's boutineer completely fell apart as well as other groomsmen's bouts. Frustrated and upset, I phoned her business number the very next day. Presumably, her husband, answered the phone. I told him exactly what had happened and how unhappy I was as a customer. He flippantly explained to me how many great reviews they had received and offered no kind words or apologies. While I do not doubt that they have had many satisfied customers, in this particular instance Budding Events failed to deliver the results I had hoped for on my wedding day.

We booked Budding Events to do our wedding flowers, and I am beyond thrilled with Tracy's (the owner) professionalism and creativity! She was super responsive to email, which is a big deal to me. (I will say, check your spam folder though because I almost missed her first reply to me, which would have been a BIG bummer!)

She worked with our rather modest budget, and we got exquisite flowers that fit in perfectly with our colors and overall aesthetic. She had several money saving tips, like using bigger blooms for fewer stems to reduce the cost of my bridal bouquet. I am a flower novice, and she had a lot of pictures to show me exactly what each flower we talked about would look like.

Our bridal party was small, and sometimes that gets you the cold shoulder from snooty vendors. Happily, I felt like I got the same expert consultation I would have received if I had brought her a large wedding. She is super creative, works with nearly any budget, and seems to really LOVE what she does.

Happily, our wedding flowers were gorgeous! I loved absolutely everything about them. They were exactly what we talked about at our consultation, and they were ready on time, without any hassle at all. She provides an excellent service at a tremendous value. If you are shopping florists, it would be a mistake not to call her for a consultation.

Thanks to Tracy, our wedding flowers were stunning. We came to her not knowing at all what we wanted, but she worked with us (extremely) patiently in designing the perfect bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. All of her flowers were delivered perfectly fresh, and on-time. Her professionalism and dedication are superb. Flowers are not something you want to worry about for you special event, and she completely set us at ease.

We will definitely go to Budding Events for all our future flower needs.

    Thanks Tracy!!

Tracy did an excellent job on our wedding flower arrangements. She was willing to work with me on my budget, offer ideas on ways to stretch my budget, and definitely satisfied the designs I had in mind. She provides outstanding service by listening to your ideas without overriding your vision. Excellent communication I would definitely recommend Tracy to friends and family.

Tracy arranged and artistically designed all the florals for my daughter's wedding in the Fair Oaks, CA area mid-August! She did such a beautiful job. She created an atmospheric presence we were hoping for with elegant table arrangements, beautiful bouquets, stylish boutonnieres, petals to line the bride's walk down the aisle, sophisticated arbor accents and floral tree arrangements. The guest were buzzing for weeks after the wedding about such elegant arrangements which transitioned beautifully from daytime to a lit up nighttime display. We wouldn't hesitate to spread the word about her professionalism and artistry to anyone looking to add elegance to any occasion!

Tracy is AMAZING! She has beautiful vision, extensive knowledge, and the patience of a saint! I must have changed my mind on types of flowers and colors too many times to count. As the Bride, she let me make the ultimate calls, but she was not afraid to offer her opinions on what she believed would work and not work as far as colors and textures of the flowers when combined. She expressed all the pros and cons to each of my choices to help me make the most informed choice I possibly could. My bouquets were even more beautiful than I ever expected!!! I will definitely go back to her for all my floral needs. Thanks Tracy!

We had a GREAT experience working with Tracy. She's great at suggesting ways to save money, which is extremely helpful, and very much appreciated by the brides. She came prepared to the reception, and had no problem making 4 last minute boutonnieres and pin-on corsages. She is friendly, professional, and an overall pleasure to work with. I look forward to working with her more, as she will be the florist I refer all of my brides to. We've heard a lot of positive feedback on all of the floral work she did, and the Bride was really happy with the way everything fit in so well. She really does know flowers!

Tracy & Budding Events were probably my favorite vendor that we utilized for my daughters Oct, 2010 wedding. She is one of the most helpful & professional people I have ever worked with. She went above & beyond the call of duty. Always available via phone or email in a moments notice & I had many moments!

The flowers were fresh beautiful & affordable. We had many comments from the bridal party & guests at how warm, professional & accomodating Tracy was.

Thank you Tracy for a beautiful job well done!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Most of the time I'm designing Wedding flowers...but, I also do funeral work, parties and holiday flowers as well:)

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Don't just look at costs..you might save a few bucks..but, make sure that you have seen work that you personally like from that florist. IF you see something you like...go with it. Don't worry about if you have picked out the right things..the answer most always is YES you have:)

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I would want to know if the flowers were fresh and when they were prepared? I would also like to know how much work it takes to create a wedding?
My answer is this...
All flowers are picked up directly from the distributor 3-4 days prior to the event so that they have time to open. Designs are made 1-2 days before the event and stored in a cooler so that they are the freshest.
There is alot of work involved. All coolers are cleaned and sanitized each week. The buckets have to be cleaned every use to keep the water fresh and clean. There is alot of prep with cleaning the flowers and getting all containers ready for designing.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. I think it is always best to think about what you want and make a list of questions. That way when you get a chance to meet with someone, you don't forget any of the questions you have. I always am happy to answer additional questions later.
If you get more than one quote for the same style arrangements, make sure to get the count on the flowers they will use. Many florists will quote you a lower price, but then will not include the flowers they should to make that piece the right size.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Have a good estimate on the number of bouts, corsages, bouquets and tables that you will have. Things almost always change, like the count of tables...but, as long as you estimate for more or right around what you think you will need..then you can always adjust the table count or the count on the bouquets.
A good idea on the color scheme is also important when picking out the colors of the flowers.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I order all flowers fresh and specifically to each event. I have been designing flowers for weddings and events for 12 years now. I keep up to date on the current styles.
Due to the fact that I built my shop at my home...I'm able to save my clients lots of money with even doing more than they thought they could get.
Most event florists will rent a warehouse space for over a grand, then up charge everything to cover that cost first before they earn anything... My garage is a glorified warehouse and I don't want that overhead just yet to save you money. I love what I do!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love to see the faces of my clients when I help them to create designs for their special event. Especially weddings...there is nothing better than helping someone reach their lifelong dream of a perfect wedding.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. I mostly get asked for quotes on costs per item. I am a made to order designer...so I only quote per the flowers and items that are used. Everything can be tailored to fit their budget.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I don't really have any favorites...I treat each customer like they are my only client. This assures them that they are important and that their needs are always met.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I'm a mother of 3 small children..so I have a busy home and work life. However; I've always been able to balance it all with the help of my family and friends. I love working with flowers. It is alot of work..but, very rewarding.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. My mom is a florist and started teaching me to design when I was 13. I got out of high school and wanted to make money for college..so I went to work for a family friend who was a wedding florist. She taught me all about the industry and got my love for events going strong.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I had a new client call 9 days before her wedding. We were able to come up with the design for 45 table arrangements that fit the budget. I created 20 tables that had boxes filled with hydrangea and manzanita branches in the center. The other 25 were glass cubes with hydranea and roses. It was such a great feeling to know that I can do such large events with less than 2 weeks notice.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I constantly look online to see what other designers are doing in this industry. I order new books on designing and constantly refresh myself on flowers and colors that are in each season. My mom is also a designer...so I get feedback from her on what I can do with certain colors and flowers.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Not really. I just need to keep with the current trends to help customers get what they want.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I have weddings or events almost all the time, every weekend. Everything is different...colors, flowers and prices.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. All styles and arrangements are different prices depending on how many flowers and what types are used.
Bouquets are almost always $90-110 for brides and $45-70 for bridesmaids. Just depends on the size and flowers involved...some take more time to put together.
Other shops have minimums on their bouquets which start usually over $150 brides and $100 bridesmaids...I don't have that minimum...just work with the flowers.
Grooms bouts are always free with the brides bouquet,
then the other bouts are $8-$10ea.
Corsages are $18-25 depending on the wristlet or pin on and the time to get them together.
Centerpieces are hard to quote due to the size and different things that can be done to fit a budget.
There are ways to use less flowers for a big effect by renting my tall vases, or just getting pretty and inexpensive vases. I have lots of ideas.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Make sure that you are okay with always working weekends. It almost always takes up a Saturday and Sunday from the family.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. I think that since I started when I was 18, and have continued to follow the trends and current styles...I can offer anything that someone could want or need. I'm really good at taking ideas and making them perfect for your budget and color scheme.
You want something unique and pretty...but, don't want to spend too much...this is where I come in. There are no set prices, cause everything is different.
I just try to create something perfect for you that is YOU!

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. I am trying to build up my company without raising prices. Once I get really, really busy...then I will hire someone part to full time. Right now, it is just me, and I hire frelance workers as needed.
I would love to be a larger shop...but, I know I still offer what they do.
I am also working on increasing my rentals...this is important to get you many options to fit your style.
