Cope's Moving is professional, courteous and they get the job done. Mike and his employees have moved my household items when I moved out of Sacramento and my business furniture and files, including coming back and moving desks and other furniture to storage. Weather it was the big jobs or small they have shown up on time, kept things cleaned up as they went along and did not disrupt my ongoing business while taking care of my needs.
I would recommend Cope’s Moving for any moving needs you might require, business or personal!

A. Shop around & remember that the lowest priced providers are taking shortcuts. They are hiring inexpensive & inexperienced labor in order to give you that low price. You may save money up front, but you'll end up paying dearly on the back end in the form of damage, headaches & stress. It's really not worth the savings when you calculate it all.
The best way to go is to find the best VALUE for your money. Talk to the people who are going to do your move & make sure you're going to get service that meets your needs. If the lowest priced guys can do that, then great but usually they can't. Neither can the highest priced movers. You normally want to be right in the middle or just above the middle in pricing to get the best value for your money.
A. 1. Movers can NOT hold your goods hostage if you rent a truck & keep control of your possessions.
2. If you don't like they look, sound or attitude of your movers when they arrive, tell them the job is cancelled. No one can charge you for services they did not provide.
3. Packing makes all the difference in the world. A good pack job will make your move go so much smoother & faster it's just unbelievable how much time & money you will save. And there are many packing shortcuts that are not only safe but also efficient, easy & cost saving.
4. Please consider that movers work very hard & are not that well compensated; especially in today's climate. If you've gotten a good moving job, fast, efficient & no damage; then it is completely appropriate to tip your movers. A 10 - 20% tip for the crew is normal.
A. 1. Are there ANY additional charges that MAY come up? If the answer is yes, find another mover.
2. Do you charge extra for stairs?
If they are charging you hourly for your move & the answer is yes, find another mover. Long distance moves are billed by either the weight or cubic footage & an extra charge per flight of stairs is normal for any flat rate move.
3. How many years experience do you or your crews have?
They should have at least 5 for the lead man & at least 3 for the others.
4. Can you tell me how you normally load the truck? What goes in first?
If they say they load the boxes first, run away from them.
5. How long have you been in business?
The longer the better obviously.
6. How much do you charge for packing?
Even if you plan to pack yourself, it's good to know that they know how to pack.
A. When I speak to a customer on the phone, I need to know generally where they are moving from & to. I don't need both addresses up front but I need to know that you're moving from Natomas to Roseville or from Carmichael to Elk Grove right away. I will need those addresses to complete an order though, so you should have them handy.
The next important thing to know will be how much stuff you have. If you know the weight that's fantastic but all I really need to know is how big is your house. Is it a 2 bedroom apartment or a 5 bedroom, two story house.
Third, what should we be most concerned about. What is the largest or heaviest item you have. Please don't wait until the conversation is over to mention the Parlor Grand Piano in the den or the 8'X8' Spa on the back Patio.
Finally, you need to know how you are planning to pay for you move. We accept Mastercard, Visa or Cash. We do offer a 5% cash discount.
