As a wedding and lifestyle photographer, I bring the unique set of skills that come from experience in both photojournalism and fine art photography.
I know how to capture those fleeting moments in images that speak with style, sophistication, and emotion.
A. It is always easier to for me give an accurate price quote and make necessary preparations if you know the location, time of day, and approximate number of hours for your wedding, event, or photo shoot. Knowing ahead of time how many photos and what style of photos you expect to receive and which photos are most important to you can also help me to give you exactly what you're looking for. When we meet in person, I'll provide some forms to make this process a little easier. Feel free to bring me magazine clippings of photos or art that you like, and any samples of décor or invites that you have picked out. The more information I have to work with, the better I can serve you.
A. I pay great attention to detail when working, and when editing. Visual elements like light, colors and forms, as well as the symbolism, actions and emotions of a scene are all very important to me. I especially enjoy collecting the candid photos, as I believe these have the potential to communicate so much about the people and places being depicted.
Once a photo makes it to my digital darkroom, even more attention is lavished on each photo, polishing them to perfection. I never "airbrush" or do anything garish to photos. When I finish editing, the results always look natural, even though this approach requires much more time.
I also employ many "alternative" photographic processes, such as custom lenses, photography using infrared rather than visible light, and sometimes adding an antiqued film/black and white/sepia effect.
A. I enjoy being able to share in the excitement and happiness of marriage every time I photograph a wedding. All of the warmth and joy of the moment make this a job like no other. I value the idea that I also have some part in preserving and communicating that joy and excitement into the future, with the tangible visual records that photography provides.
A. I'm often asked how old I am. I'm 26. I look young, and I am still in the process of starting my career. I do come prepared with a B.A. in Photography, and a lot of experience in the broader Photographic field. My work has been published in local newspapers, as well as shown in regional galleries and competitions. I have Photographed 3 weddings so far as a solo Photographer, and have assisted with 2 others.
Another common question is turn-around time. This varies quite a bit depending on the level of editing required for a set of photos, but is generally between 2 and 4 months. Factors that can help expedite this process would be a well-lit (bright, evenly lit) wedding location, and a well decorated location (for example, wires for sound equipment tucked in/hidden, no lint/debris on tables or floors). Turn-around time also depends on the number of photos expected. I normally provide 40 to 70 high-quality, carefully selected and prepared photos, but for those with longer weddings, and those who opt for an upgraded package with more photos, editing will take longer.
A. 3D Photography is about to become a major player in the Photography field. There have been 3D cameras since the beginning, but new technology is finally making this immersive experience more convenient, through 3D televisions, 3D digital picture frames, and 3D prints.
This is a trend I am well prepared for. I have my own 3D camera setup and try to take at least one 3D photo per wedding that I shoot (of course I could take more photos of this type if requested). During our in-person consultation, I'll be glad to show you some samples of my 3D work.
