FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you want quality photos that your childrens' children would want to put up in their homes to remember you by, then you need a quality photographer. Too many people are buying camera's and calling themselves a "photographer" when they've never had any formal training or don't really have an eye for it. Then they charge only 250 for an 8 hour wedding but the images produced look the same as your one of your guest who carried a point and shoot. Photography is a trade, a craft that must be mastered. It's not like getting a job at Best Buy where they have someone train you for a day and you're good to go. You only hire professional photographers about once every five or ten years. Please don't cheapen yourself just to save a couple hundred dollars. You'll regret it in the end.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers understood that photography is a trade. It's a craft that I have to study and practice everyday with the ever changing technology and style. It takes decades and lots of money to do what I do. That's why it's so disappointing that when I give a quote for an 8 hour wedding they come back to say they found some one to do it for nearly penny's. And, as ALWAYS, it's a "photographer" who is just starting out and want's to build their portfolio. If an aspiring photographer wants to do that, great but your wedding is your wedding. It only happens once. You can lower your budget on flowers or food but not the photographer. Memories fade but pictures don't.
