Mark and his crew were professional, thorough, and best of all, collaborative. They did my master bath in about ten days, and every day, they made sure that plastic was up around the job site, plastic on our bed, and windows open to ensure proper ventilation. If anything was even slightly off, they fixed it right away. Mark guided me through the purchase of individual components, and made suggestions when my lack of knowledge about hardware pointed me in the wrong direction, Mark gently nudged me back to the right selections. The only criticism I had was that he always arrived at least 90 minutes after the time he said he would arrive. That was not a problem for me because he had a house key, but if you are on a schedule, you should be aware of that. Had I been leaving to go to an office every day, there's no way I would even be aware of that. It was worth it, though. My master bath is a show piece, and besides, he and his crew did little side jobs for us (you know how it goes--if we paint a wall, now we need new curtains, and oh, by the way, can you install a ceiling fan?) Mark was cheerful, fair, and always did those jobs quickly, using quality parts. If I could re-do my whole house, I'd hire Mark and his crew in a heartbeat.

I asked Americam Builders to provide a bid to help me update my 1926 kitchen. I had started the project but certain aspects where beyond me. Mark gave me reasonable estimates to remove part of a overhanging lathe and plaster exhaust area, drywall the wall, install a new exhaust hood including new electrical, install Ikea cabinets, and install Ikea countertops. He and his crew did a great job. While they were here I noticed dryrot under my front window. Mark immediately knew why it was there (incorrect install that someone else has done 9 years ago) and fixed the problem for a reasonable amount. Mark is very knowledgable about older homes. I'm pleased with the results in the kitchen and I'm glad I hired American Builders. I've already recommended him to several people and had asked him to provide an estimate to replace a trapdoor to the basement and install a new side door.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is an additional 3% processing fee for credit card payments.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We do a preliminary onsite visit to discuss the project, take pictures etc. , so that the estimate will be accurate and complete. Typically it takes about 1 week to get a written estimate back to the customer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15 years working for a tile company plus 15 years in general construction. Other training includes web research and business classes at city college. I won several awards at tile competitions over the years!
