I have known Tom Young for many years. He is the consummate landscape designer for Ladera Oaks Swim and Tennis Club in Portola Valley, CA.
My home landscape has been in need of a rejuvination for sometime, however, anytime I look at the Sunset Garden & Landscape book, my eyes glaze over and concentration goes to zero.
I called Tom and explained my needs. He came to my home, walked the property, took some photos, and within a couple of days, had a landscape plan developed at a very attractive price. It was a no-brainer. The results are absolutely lovely with lots of neighbor compliments.

We have a number of friends who have had Tom do design work for them, and the results were beautiful. We recently had Tom help us with a drainage issue, and he came and spent time with us, checked a number of related areas that could be contributing to the problem, proposed a plan at a reasonable price, and did the work on time and on budget. He even took some time to answer some garden related questions and make suggestions, though that was not within the scope of work. Tom is creative, extremely knowledgable, easy to work with and has great integrity. I recommended my parents call him for a major yard re-design, and they are very pleased to be working with him. My Dad is a contractor, very picky about who he works with, and he has been impressed.

Tom did a great job of drawing up plans and selecting plants for a complete re-do of our front and rear yards. He now comes twice a year to prune and "touch-up" areas that need it. Tom is on time and easy to work with....a great resource for the Peninsula homeowner!
