Ruth Gerson, Vocal Lessons

Introduction: NYC vocal coach, Ruth Gerson, is now teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her vocal approach emphasizes diaphragmatic support and placement of the breath, the relaxation of the throat and jaw, vocal cord health and stamina, as well as extensive ear training. She goes beyond other coaches to assist songwriters with their songs, and introduce new songwriters to techniques for writing. Gerson utilizes her background in theater from the British American Drama Academy and the High School of Performing Arts to help singers with stage presence, stage fright, and a methodology to keep material fresh and exciting to perform. Private students usually begin with 45 minute sessions, though many take longer sessions, if they are also working on songwriting, guitar and piano with the voice. Students are provided with practice CDs of vocal exercises and all lessons are recorded to take home.
