Preble Motor Power

I am a 3rd gen, ASE certified mechanic with 24 years experience; I have worked in shops both dealer and privately owned. I work on a wide variety of vehicles, from small cars
and trucks, to big rigs, domestic, European and foreign.

The check-engine light is on for a reason, and I like to fix that reason.

I do not practice the "band-aid approach" in fixing the vehicle. I go to the root and fix it, so that problem will not come back. I am mobile and can fix you on the spot. If not, we go get the parts, at the best price around, and deal with the problem.

Head gaskets seem to be the #1 problem in CA. I will give you a very good price in rebuilding the top end. Including all new parts, gaskets, the machine work and labor all included. It is still not cheap, but I can do it for half the price most shops charge.

Don't sell the car you love, have it fixed.

I Specialize In:

* Engine Light Diagnostics
* Oil Changes and Tune ups
* Plugs and Filters
* Breaks, Suspension, Shocks and Struts
* Head Gaskets
* Injection Systems
* Intakes
* Sensor, Vac, Map and Evap
* Catalytic Converter Issues
* AC, Alternators and Charging System Issues

No engine or chassis problem too big.

For your need for speed, I do engine changes and custom rebuilds and turbos. I provide high end and high performance, built to custom spec, racing spec cars, SCCA, drag strip, and your local dirt track; you will find my motors.

I also do ECU flashing. Price varies on every vehicle, and I will not do this on some. This will take about 2 hours and 200$ minutes to do. This is tuning at its best, and you will not recognize your car after the process.

I charge 50$ an hour for all small truck and auto. 20% extra charge for personal checks.

I accept credit cards / debit cards. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Please call and ask for Carrol.

    The diagnostic and repair went well. Carrol was easy to work with and I would use him for again for other car repairs.

    Carrol is very knowledgeable. It isn't very often that i find someone who knows more about muscle cars than I do. I moved to Alaska and didn't have time to work on my car. He is building her up for me and is very flexible and VERY reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend him for any work that you may need done.

    I am the kind of business man that can appreciate a person like Carrol who takes pride in his work. The struts on my car were literally on their last leg. I called around and talked to other mechanics I found on the Internet who didnít have much enthusiasm about what they do until, I came upon Carrol. After talking to him he made me feel confident that he could get the job done. So I said when, he said today, I said letís do it. He came over to my house gave me a complete tune-up, new fan belt, changed my brakes pads, and flushed my cooling system, all in one day, and the price was very reasonable. I couldnít believe it. I consider myself lucky to have met Carrol and I couldnít be more satisfied and relieved. I honestly believe that, there is nothing about cars and engines that he doesnít know about or hasnít worked on. I All I can say it that my car now rides and feels like a brand new car. I wouldnít have no one touch my car again ever, except Carrol. Have car or truck problems you canít solve, heís your man. Heís the real deal. Thanks Carrol and, continued success.
    Respectively, Tomas (Hairbytomas.com).

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for the price, may not be the cheapest, where the person gets parts, and what he tells you over the phone, should be anything but something over your head.

Do not let a mechanic fool you into EXTRAS

Then look at the persons record, past customers, there deming. It all counts, because you are the customer, and do not deserve to be talked to like your the idiot.

Most important, What dose your gut say, can i trust this person with me ride.

Bottom line, you decide

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Can i have a invoice?.

Are you qualified to do the work on something that is not in your advertisement?

Are you insured?

How much longer of the life of the car will i get after you do the work?.

Is it worth fixing it.?

Why so cheap for a problem so big?

Can you provide proof that what you are telling me is the problem.?

What are the benefits of fixing vs junking.

Why so cheap again?

Do you back up your work?

Can it be done? and what should i expect with a new motor vs a used one from the yard.?

Why not a junk yard motor?

Do i have to have the heads done?

Is there any hidden charges that i need to know about, or dose it come in the package you put together for me.?

Why so cheap?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have been working on motors for 27 yrs. I have a stock of very powerful and a wide verity of motors, that include all facets of racing, shows, or just a daily driver.

I back up my work. I will not even show you the paperwork specs for the motor, unless you buy it. What is inside on some of the motors, we will just say, trade secret. And not willing to give it away.

But you will, however, be very happy. Weather it is for the track, strip, or street. And i will make sure on your daily, it is well maintained and gets the attention a new or rebuilt motor needs.

My motors are in the Modified Series, SCCA, and drag strips all over the U.S. and a few in England. Super 8.

I do not have to talk you into this, just get behind the wheel of one of mine.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Some of the challenges, like getting 800hp from a 4 cyl, Not likely but have one putting 365 and 700, for a few seconds with the juice.

And love the feeling when a person gets out of the car after testing. The smile on there face is priceless. and sometimes the veteran racers shaking. Now that speaks volumes.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Was born into it, then became a passion.
