I've worked with John on several events now, mostly corporate style events but we've done a few weddings for my family members and we put together my son's school dance. His level of professionalism is outstanding, always arriving on time to every event, never a problem with music selection, and his set-ups are perfect for whatever occasion I use him for. So far to date I've use John and his company for over 10 events and every event was perfect. His online management system always helps too, with being able to pick and choose music. I recommend John and Location DJ to anyone who needs a DJ for any event!

John was our DJ for our wedding a year ago. He was amazing! He kept to the time schedule as much as possible. He played music to keep the guest on the dance floor. He alway showed us how to do a line dance we were having issues doing.

I hired DJ John Joseph for my small backyard wedding and I was a little bummed out about how things went down. At first it seemed like we had great communication and he was always very nice. About two days before the event he informed me that another DJ (DJ Kiki) would be taking over which kind of irked me because I had asked him once if he would be the actual DJ and he had told me yes. I didn't make a fuss about it though because it does state in his contract that the DJ can be switched up at their discretion and I needed a DJ. My wedding was only a few days away, after all. He told me she would be in contact with me. I sent him a message the next morning and told him I didn't need to use the lights they were planning on providing. I asked him if that was ok and if it would be $100 less. he never answered me back. My deal was $600 ($500 for DJ + $100 for uplights) DJ Kiki called me right after, though and wanted to know what kind of music I wanted and specific artists. Again, I was a little put off. I had been spending time talking to DJ John and thought everything was good. I didn't really have time to deal with the music anymore, I had a lot of other things to attend to. My fiancé was able to make a list for me, though, and I called and left her a message with the names of various artists, like she'd asked for. I left my home to finish some last min. things and got a text asking me to then text her the list. I had left it at home so that was a little annoying. I also let her know i had messaged John and I wouldn't need the lights. she said, "Ok". Cut to the next morning, I texted her to ask when she would be over to set up. She said 3 and that was perfect. Wedding was at 5. But then I got a text asking for the names of the bridal party. DJ John already had those and I didn't have time to deal with that. She also asked me for the address :/ Now I was stressing! I called her and straightened things out with her cause I just didn't have time to text. We were leaving for our hotel to get ready. My dad was there to greet her and show her where to set up. She messaged me at 3:15 to tell me everything was set up and looking good. Whew! When I arrived, it was time to walk down the aisle and she had all of my songs for the ceremony :) The music for the reception was fun and she kept my bridesmaids dancing all night. She could have been better at announcing things, though. I feel like that could have flowed so much better. I decided to not do a couple of traditional wedding things like the garter toss, being introduced, speeches and cake cutting because the first few dances we did were announced poorly. Also, when it came time to cut her the check, I asked about the lights and she had in fact used them and it was $600. I feel like there could have been better communication with all of that. Just a text or message to tell me no would have been better than ignoring my request. All in all, she was very nice but it was just ok.
