Beaudacity

Introduction: Beau Ralph Behrends (born December 11, 1988) better known by his stage name, Beaudacity, is an American electronic musician and performer living in San Diego, California. Born in New York, Behrends left everything he knew behind in 1998 and moved across the country with his mother. After graduating high school, Behrends came into contact with his first piece of DJ equipment in 2011 only several months before moving to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to continue college at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. While living in Wisconsin, Behrends began building his studio one midi controller at a time. In 2012, Behrends attended 'Summer Camp', a music festival in Illinois where he met two of his biggest electronic artist influences at the time. They are Skrillex (Sonny Moore) and Bassnectar (Lorin Ashton). Following in their footsteps, Behrends continued to push himself to produce sets and mixes of music that took the listener on a journey ignoring the limitations of labeling himself as an artist of one particular genre. By the end of 2012, Behrends returned to his hometown, San Diego, with three full length mixes under his belt and a vengeance. In 2013 after the death of his father, Kevin O'Donnell, he used his inheritance to upgrade his equipment to the industries standard (Pioneer CDJ2000 Nexus' and DJM-900) and pushed himself into San Diego's underground electronic dance music scene. His first live event on April 5th, 2013 was a house party created to mimic the larger music festivals with a seven-hour lineup of local talent. After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback, Behrends continued to push himself and soon enough he was performing at venues all across San Diego including House of Blues, Queen Bee Cultural Arts Center, and Somewhere Loud. Deeply embedded in San Diego's underground EDM movement, he has brought both excitement and attention to its thriving community. He continues to do so by playing alongside prominent local artists, such as Tristan D from Z90.3's ZDM and DJ Ideal, a local powerhouse in dance music. In addition, Behrends is now opening for artists, such as Protohype, Kissy Sell Out, Fukkk Offf and Arnej which are well known in the EDM community around the world. Beaudacity is a name that invites attention and also deserves it. As the year draws to a close and we move into 2014, it's safe to say that Beaudacity's career has just begun. He is an EDM DJ/producer.
