I am a very versatile tutor and well rounded individual. I have taught ESL, Spanish and English composition to all ages. I am a published author, and I enjoy helping students write essays, compositions or proposals.
I am a great conversationalist as well for those who wish to improve their verbal skills. I have traveled the world, climbed mountains and volcanoes, snorkeled in SE Asia, Mexico and the Caribbean, dined with Turks and Laotians and have stayed in the homes of Indonesians, Germans, Turks, Argentinians and Mexicans. I have a great life and would love to share ideas, philosophies, adventures with you!!!

I have a flexible schedule and I also work weekends.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Typically I teach English to people who want to improve their speaking, listening and writing skills. I am also an experienced editor and proofreader. I have been hired to review and correct many kinds of documents, from highly classified material to corporate newsletters

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. To find the best tutor for you, you must consider the qualifications and years of experience a tutor has. You must also look at how well-rounded the tutor is. A well rounded tutor will be able to give you a more thorough tutoring experience. Enthusiasm is a big part of a positive experience as well. And most importantly you must feel comfortable with a tutor.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. You should think about how important your goal is to you. Is it more important to find a cheap tutor or an experienced and perhaps more expensive tutor? Although I may charge more than other tutors, you can rest assured that I am the best tutor you will find in the San Diego area. This is about your future. Why look for bargains when you can have the best?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Who better to teach writing than a published author? I have written several books and am very comfortable teaching writing and organizational skills.
You no longer have to put up with a B, I can assure you that if your essay is well written and well organized you will get an A
Who better to teach you to speak English with confidence? I am a native English speaker with years of experience in Canada, Mexico and now here in the US. I have great credentials and can put you in touch with former students if you wish to get some feedback from former students.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy teaching because I see results so quickly. I am a dedicated tutor and I believe that when I see the barriers come down and a good trusting relationship develop, I know that I have been successful in my work. This is very satisfying for me.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I would like customers to know that my students tell me that I am not only an English tutor but I am also a teacher who brings a unique experience to their learning experience. An international student told me that I was his cultural tutor, as I taught him about the complexities of US culture. An international engineer thanked me for allowing her to share her insecurities with me during her first few months in the US. She also thanked me for advising her on what to do in certain social situations. I consider myself far more than just an English teacher and I think you will see this also.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I decided to become a tutor to share my knowledge on a more personal level. I realized that many students learn better in a private setting where they can be more comfortable. I give students the confidence and guidance they need to be able to reach their goals. I feel personally gratified when students dramatically improve in a short time.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I have recently worked with a student who lacked confidence in their speaking abilities. I helped them bridge the gap between their listening skills and speaking skills. She now is able to speak confidently. I also helped a student dramatically improve her TOEFL score to a level where she was accepted into a very competitive university.
