I am a licensed captain and guide. I specialize in fly fishing and light tackle fishing in San Diego Bay and the Point Loma Kelp Beds.
I am especially good in guiding young kids to a great fishing experience. We will catch spotted bay bass, yellowfin croaker, halibut and the elusive Pacific Bonefish.
I can provide equipment, or you can bring your own. Light snacks and drinks are included.
Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. If you are fishing in salt water be sure your guide is licensed by the US Coast Guard. Your guide should also be licensed by the Department of Fish and Game. The guide should fish the waters you want to fish on a regular basis and provide you with quality equipment if you do not bring your own.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I would like to know how often my guide fished the waters, what species he catches and what can I expect to catch on this trip.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. What licenses do you have? Who is endorsing the guide? What safety equipment is on the boat and where? Has the boat passed a USCG Safety inspection?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Do I have the allotted amount of time to fish? Do I have the skills needed and can and will the guide help me? If I am bringing my kids, is the guide kid friendly and a good teacher?
