I hit a major road block. I was stuck and miserable. And I met Kirk. His prices were so good that I figured any results would be amazing. Turns out it was beyond amazing. I got amazing results when we worked out 3 times a week and those great results still came even when I could only do once a week. I am proud to call Kirk a friend and not a trainer because the word trainer is limiting. Kirk is a friend, a mentor, a trainer and most of a great human being who will get you results and MORE. It's nice to have someone coach you who isn't driven by money. His happiness came every time he could see my great results. All in all, my life has changed and I owe so much to Kirk and RAWMANA. I have never been able to keep weight off for more than a year and I'm about to hit the 3 year mark and feeling better than ever. No joke. Just hard work and great results.

Kirk was kind enough to take me on at the request of another Rawmana trainer to help me achieve my goal of competing in my first figure competition. Kirk's unmatched knowledge and experience, based on his own successes and skill and experiences in a variety of high level competitive sports such as fighting, body building, power lifting and martial arts makes him the go to guy for a killer all around workout. In my case, I had been struggling to recover from a torn IT band which manifested itself in a chronic painful knee. For months, we had been unable to isolate certain body parts and while I was making great progress, we knew i had to take it up a notch to compete. Kirk felt he could help me get the legs and glutes I wanted and needed for competition, despite the injury. Can I just stop for a minute and give a compliment to both Rawmana and this man's lack of ego? If this were another gym or training facility, no way would they work as a team to help ME the client get the best results. Other gyms/trainers would guard their own client as strictly theirs. Kirk didn't hesitate! He gave me his honest assessment of my weak points, and where we could build strengths. He told me to trust the process, and his game plan, and I did! And he didn't and hasn't let me down. I am happy to say I took first in my class and 2nd overall in my competition in November. I could not have done it without Kirk. We are now back at it, working towards winning the sword in 2014. Don't let Kirk's unbelievably upbeat personality and smiling face fool you...while his nickname is Coach Easy Day, you will aurely regret it if you think he's easy! He will work you hard and demand you give it 100%! He is methodical and strategic about his workouts as they relate to YOUR goals, and is always prepared and on time. He also has given me more than just physical training...he has taken off his task master hat and provided sound advice and a calming voice, and has been intuitive and compassionate when he sensed I was feeling upset, exhausted or anxious pre- competition (there is a lot of anxiety leading up to that first competition!!). If you can't read between the lines...what I'm trying to say is that Kirk is just an all around great person, kick ass coach and trainer! So what are YOUR goals...and what are you waiting for?! Call him :).

I go to Ramana Fitness and train with Kirk Cortez to remind myself how lucky I am. The fact that I can am capable of attaining happiness and great health is largely due to Kirk’s devotion to making a positive difference in others lives. He doesn’t judge, rather he leads by example. I’ve had the honor of getting to know him over the last year and he is a wonderful role model in many ways. His family is everything, and that carries over into the way treats his clients. He has pride in the outcome of my workouts and he encourages me to try harder, reach my goals and be more than what I was when I started. The fact that we are able to laugh during our sessions is a huge bonus; that goes a long way and keeps me coming back. Kirk’s Martial Arts background is such a bonus for me, as I was looking for a way to keep that discipline in this new approach to fitness. He has a long history of training and fighting, and we mix that into our weekly workouts. I’ve been kickboxing for years, and it’s become a huge part of who I am. It is an honor to continue this path with someone so skilled and who understands the beauty and integrity of this ancient art. I feel that nothing is more valuable than the company you keep, and Kirk has been a blessing and an invaluable tool in the success of my journey.

If you think you know everything about fitness, think again. Kirk has taken my physique to levels I have never thought possible. There is a saying at Rawama, "Eazy day with Kirk"...far from easy. You will leave that gym like you just finished a marathon. Whether it's bodybuilding, cardiovascular, cross fit, and even MMA, he knows it all. Outstanding professionalism and highly knowledgeable, Kirk has and continues to improve me in both fitness and as a person all together.
