FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1. Ample experience in the area of work you need performed. 2. Stable work history, roots in the community and a good track record. 3. Don't pay more than 10% of the total project cost up front when a project is beginning. Reasonable progress payments should be agreed upon before any work begins. 4. Always go into a project with a fixed price quotation. "Extra costs" should not paid unless they are pointed out by the tradesman during the course of the project along with the rationale and the cost. Then, and only then, should they be paid and by written "change order" (the extra cost is described and priced and signed by both you and the tradesman). 5. References from prior customers are always good to check out. But be aware; sometimes the names and phone numbers which are given as references may be the contractor's friends or relatives. 6. Use your "gut" instincts when you are considering which individual(s) will be working for you. Those instincts are usually correct.
