I LOVE working with Sarah Hess Designs. She's actually gone over a few sites with me for multiple businesses and volunteer organizations I am a part of. She's helped me with Search Engine Optimization, design, implementation and minor changes after everything was done. For each company, she talked to me about the different website templates and management systems available so that we could figure out what worked best for it's application; she didn't have that one size fits all look at the websites. She really wanted to make sure each site was using the right tools for the goals.
Super easy to talk to whether you are tech savvy or total layperson. I have worked with many websites over the last decade, and she knew that, so we were able to talk tech jargon on stuff I understand, but then she would explain to me the stuff I didn't. She taught me many dos and don'ts... albeit I was DOing a lot of DON'Ts before - OOPS! She really is as good as it gets when it comes to getting everything handled from start to finish. I'm not one for rushing work to get done, and I don't think she is one to rush. She really puts out the feeling of "Quality over Quantity" attitude.
OH! And another thing; actually super duper important in my book. She kept in touch with me
throughout the whole process. I prefer to have an update every day or two versus assuming everything is going OK. Phone calls for the stuff that needed attention right away, and emails for the things I could think about for a day or so.

I am an acupuncturist in Berkeley and have had years of experience with websites and optimization issues. I have hired others to help improve the website and have tried things on my own that worked for awhile but didn't last. Then I had a consult with Sarah at SH Designs.
Sarah created a written analysis and plan that targeted areas that could improve my SEO standing. While my website has lots going for it, it wasn't living up to the theoretical potential. After a few changes, my search standings started to improve significantly. The other people working on my website(s) may have helped create part of the foundation, Sarah has buttressed the foundation and got the walls and roof to really start to stand out.
I can speak with authority in saying that Sarah Hess at SH Designs knows what she is doing. I highly recommend her for all of you who are NOT in my field!

Sarah designed and built my Fine Art portfolio website. She gave me a fair price for the quality of her work, and exceeded my expectations. She even made changes on something I thought would be better but wasn't in the end. Sarah commuted 1 1/2 each way to train me on using my new website and made laminated reference guides for me as well. She kept her promises and met my deadlines.
