- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2014 I began a course titled I.M.C.P., which stands for Interactive Media Certification Program. This course covers all of the Adobe creative suite and web development programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, just to name a few. We're well past the Photoshop and Illustrator segments of the course. This has enabled me to better serve my customers by branching out into digital and vector design and illustration, allowing me to fuse new ideas and processes with the shop to provide new and unique services and products.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My shop's first products were couture gift boxes. But they weren't always so couture. I first learned how to construct these special little boxes in the third grade with my favorite teacher. Her process was simple, so simple that I never forgot and always found myself making these boxes for friends or just for fun. A few years ago I walked into an art store and bought my first package of large cardstock. This package was intended for a special project. Those little boxes would never be the same again. That holiday season I made special Christmas themed boxes for all of my family and friends. A few days later I got an overwhelming response from all of them about possibly selling these little boxes to their family and friends. A few months later JimadoriiCrafts was born onto the Etsy online market place. Since then the shop has ventured onto a new course and now encompasses physical and digital designs on Etsy.com, RedBubble.com, and now proudly provides event services for the Thumbtack.com online community.
