Introduction: Melody Music Studios. Since she was 16 years old, Melody Moore has been a professional actress, musician and vocalist. She started her career in musical theatre and graduated to television and film. She starred in the independent hit "Down and Out with the Dolls," a laugh out loud comedy on the ups and downs of an all-girl rock band. Her roles in theatrical productions include Rizzo in Grease, Ti Moune in Once on This Island and numerable others. Originally from Washington State, she has relocated to San Diego to pursue from San Diego State University her music degree. Currently, Melody is in a very competitive program that accepted less than 5 new students this year, the San Diego State University electro-acoustic music program. Her approach to teaching combines classical elements with influences from blues, pop, jazz, rock and everything in between. Her students enjoy an open learning atmosphere that concentrates on the student's personal needs. She has over 5 years of teaching under her belt, and 11 years of being a professional performer. As a vocalist and musician, Melody has toured the country with her own original band playing casinos, nightclubs, and opening for national acts such as Ian Moore, Caroline Dawn Johnson and Saving Jane. She has shared stages with Canadian super-talent Kinnie Starr and members from the Nymphs. Her Hyperactive Music Festival performances have gathered her critical acclaim from Creed and Puddle of Mudd producer John Kurzweg, and she finished 2nd place out of more than 200 entries in the Sisters Folk Festival's David Carter Memorial Songwriting contest. Her music has been featured on the FTM podcast network, Dessert Highway radio, and NPR.
