- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Currently I am charging $70 per colored page. The rates can vary based on amount of color and detail involved. Any changes after approval of inkwork, colors and artwork is completed, the client will be charged for my time to create another page design at the same rate depending on circumstances. Unfortunately, that is the way of business, I work hard and it takes time to sketch, ink and paint and I can't work for free if you change your mind.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We email, or talk on phone, set up a time to meet if we are local and close by. There we discuss the story and and ideas for illustrations. Once settled on some ideas, I will follow up with some sketches and send via email and we can meet again, sign a contract, start initial payment (usually into three payments) discuss colors and draw more roughs and final artwork with meetings in between.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
AA in graphic design and also many art classes in college before I changed my major to Education. I have been a teacher for 23 years! Woo! Now that's experience!
