Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. The most important things to ask your potential home inspector is what professional trade associations do they belong to (CREIA, ASHI, or NAHI), how many years have they been in business, are they licensed contractors, and do they carry errors and omissions insurance.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are many home inspection companies to choose from. Make sure the campany you choose is the right one. You get what you pay for, so don't let price be the main factor in your choice. Interview several companies before choosing the one you want and base your choice on the important factors like quality of inspection and report provided, years in business, and any guarantess or warranties provided.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How many years have you been in business, what are your qualifications, do you provide a computer generated report and include pictures, are you a member of CREIA or ASHI, do you carry errors and omissions insurance, and how long will the inspection last.
