I am a performing magician who has forty years' experience to offer you and your guests. I can charm children, amaze adults, and entertain everyone at an affordable price. I have a satisfaction guarantee--if your audience does not have fun, happiness, and a memorable experience, then I'll refund your price.
I perform any of several different characters (Western character Bafflin' Bill Cody, medieval mind reader Merlin-ye-Mage, Uncle Sam, Mistoffelees the Magical Cat from CATS, and the magic Santa Claus), and can also be costumed for any specific or special event you have. You may see me in over 100 videos on YouTube, including Magic shows, travels, and public speeches.
My act includes audience participation in every effect -- so volunteers get to pick a card, hold the napkins, examine the ropes, and participate in other ways. If you have a VIP or series of VIPs to honor, then just give me a list of a dozen or so people and I will use them instead of taking volunteers. I always treat them politely, thank them for their participation, and give them a big round of applause at the end. See my web site for a sample show right now!
I can perform intimate close-up magic right in front of your eyes, between banquet tables, standing up during a happy hour or seminar, or in various places within a residential location. I also have a larger stage show, which I perform for school assemblies and bigger events, in which I saw a person in half (the easy part) and then put them back together unharmed (the magical part). See me Saw a Cop in Half on YouTube!
My half-hour shows are $175, or I will give you an hour of close-up magic for the same price; then I will repeat the same 15-minute show in three or four parts of the venue so that everyone gets a chance to be in the front row. The large stage show is $300, or two for $500. I will discount these prices if you hire me for two or three hours, or to produce more than one stage show.
During November and December I make Magic Santa Claus appearances for $175 for a family group (up to a dozen). I offer a 20 minute Magic Show plus the Santa Services for $250 (nearly an hour long), and 60 minutes of repeating Magic Santa Claus closeup shows at banquet or party is $200. Santa Services include providing a huge red bag for gifts, wearing a tuxedo cut fox fur trimmed suit, handing out candy or treats you provide, reading a story or poem of your choice, handing out every gift individually, and sitting for all individual and group portraits. I even wear sleigh bells too!
LIFE MEMBER: Society of American Magicians, the London Magic Circle; MEMBER: The International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Hollywood Magic Castle. Call me and you can receive an admit card to the Castle!
I travel throughout the World at one dollar a mile from San Diego. If over 100 miles, a single hotel room should be included. So, wherever you would like me to perform -- I'll be there!

Santa Loch David Crane visited our home on Christmas Eve, surprising our grandchildren with his visit. He did a great job as Santa and entertained the big and little kids alike with his magic. He made Christmas Eve one we won't forget. He was on time arriving, and took his time to visit with everyone. I'd use him again.

Loch performed as "Baffling Bill Cody" at my son's Bar Mitzvah party. My children had seen his show many times over the years at many different fairs and festivals, as well as private parties, and they requested his performance at the party. He arrived early, then after lunch, acted as magical MC as we had several different acts booked. He involved all different children in the magic, as well as providing an entertaining show for the adults. He coordinated the different performers, and warmed the audience up for every act. Everyone had a great time!
Loch's close up act is especially unique, due to the historical nature of the act, and the props are not gimmicks, but real Native American artifacts. The stories are real legends, not something made up for the occasion.

Loch David Crane has been performing magic for over 50 years. Yet his personality and patter are fresh and vital. Loch presents his world-famous "Bafflin' Bill Cody" act to audiences young and old. He is one of the few magicians working who infuses his act with moments of teaching that are both entertaining and informative.
I highly recommend Loch David Crane's "Magic Santa Claus" for your holiday entertainment as well.

A. 1. Look at the Magician on YouTube and see the act you will be purchasing.
2. Agree on the arrival time, the performance time, the act and theme you will receive.
3. Remember kids' attention span, and have many short activities rather than long times without variety.
4. Watch every child to see moods, smiles, frowns, or tears which will tell you how they feel. Don't just fawn on the birthday child.
5. Send a deposit and call in advance to secure a professional; ask for references and quotes.
6. Don't believe everything a web site says--look for evidence, support, and videos!

Have you done these shows before? (birthday, niteclub, residential, corporate, parlor, stage, emcee. etc.)
Do you require a deposit? Do you refund it?
Is there another charge for transportation?
Do you offer a guarantee?
What variety of acts and costumes can you provide?
A. I have fifty years' experience performing magic on stage and close-up, for birthdays and barbecues, for schools and libraries. Most of the time I perform a western character "Bafflin' Bill Cody" and use authentic Lakota Indian props, stories, and mythology to re-create the world of the old West hundred 150 years ago. In my medieval act "Merlin-ye-Mage" I use authentic and handmade props which you will never see any magic store. My character, my experience, my unique props, and of course my ability to handle audience volunteers close up and onstage makes my unique act fun to watch and enjoyable to participate in.
A. I love to entertain people and make them happy. I like to see smiles, friendship, and joy in the room when I enter and when I leave. I am often the first or only live magician at some audience members have ever seen, and I enjoy presenting my unique performance art to give them warm and lasting memory of what live magician can do for them.
