As part of a web presence overhaul for one of my clients, I hired Plastic Otter to redo the website and for SEO services. My client had only a few requirements for me to consider when hiring the service: 1) local company in San Diego and 2) can legitimately address both the web and SEO service needs. I vetted several companies and found the team at Plastic Otter to be the right fit. In addition to meeting both requirements, they were the most professional, didn't make lofty promises, and were competitively price. They listened well and took time to understand my client's needs. They walked us step by step through the process of creating the website and delivered a solid plan for SEO. They set clear deadlines and expectations. Because my client is a customer driven E-Commerce business, search engine ranking is essential to their success. Plastic Otter delivered the SEO results they promised on the most important keywords. As a direct result, my client has realized increased revenue because of the increase in traffic and lead conversion. Plastic Otter was easy to work with, reasonably priced and totally delivered. We are a local service business and our website had not been updated in several years. We used to rank on pages 1 and 2 for important search terms but fell off after the last agency we worked with, from what I understand, built a ton of bad links in an attempt to increase our rankings, but once google caught them we went to the last page. We lost a lot of web traffic and business as a result of this. We found Plastic Otter through a referral. They updated our website (we could have gone with a more expensive custom redesign but they advised they could work with what we already had and just update it for much cheaper). They fixed the bad links that google was penalizing us for, and then started a new SEO campaign. In addition, to get immediate traffic and business through our door, they recommended an adwords campaign. I was skeptical of this at first, because I had tried using adwords myself and it just blew through money, but Plastic Otter knew exactly how to research the right keywords to bid on and remove the keywords that wouldn't bring us any qualified clicks. We are still clients as we learned the hard way that SEO is an ongoing process, just like any marketing service. But they did suggest after we were ranking on pages 1 and 2 again that we could go down a price level to save us money, we decided to stay with the same level because we've seen such great results from them and it's been worth every penny. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have several pricing plans for all of our services, starting from $399. And we'll always be up front with the client and let them know if we think they can go with a smaller plan, or if we don't think they'll benefit at all from our services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to get to know what type of business the customer has, what their previous marketing efforts, if any, have been. We like to be as transparent as possible with our pricing, which is easily found on our website. We'll do a competitive analysis and see which keywords they are currently ranking for, would like to rank for, and could really benefit from ranking for. The whole process is easy to understand and we're always here to explain every step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of marketing experience, with the last 5 specifically in digital marketing. I have multiple Google certifications, including AdWords and Analytics. I was one of the first individuals in the U.S. to be awarded an OMCP Certification (Online Marketing Certified Professional), which is becoming the gold standard by which digital marketers are assessed.
