Recently, while on business in San Diego, the concierge of my hotel recommended DCOMPRESS DOWNTOWN for a massage. A bottle of champagne to that woman! The massage was fantastic! D knew just how to relieve the stress in my shoulders, neck and upper back. I haven't felt this great in ages. The rest of the massage was pretty terrific, too. The studio is a delight. First of all, it smells wonderful! Then, the colors and furnishings are so welcoming and warm that you can't help but relax the moment you step across the threshold. It's a large room, but feels so cozy. There's a flight of dragonflies across one wall, and a beautiful old mirror, as well as some modern pieces. There is a small retail area, too, especially convenient if you're looking for that last minute birthday or holiday gift. There are soy candles (the source of the soothing fragrance) and beautiful hand crafted jewelry made by local artisans. There are so many pairs of gorgeous earrings, that I had a hard time making a choice! Whenever I'm back in San Diego, I'm planning to make another appointment at DCOMPRESS DOWNTOWN. And I'm telling all my friends about it, too.

Massage lovers rejoice! I happened upon Dcompress Downtown when I was looking for a massage in downtown San Diego and I had the best experience. They call themselves a "serene stop in your urban life" and that's just what it was. The space is warm and inviting with some modern elements mixed in with antiques. The massage was INCREDIBLE--I chose to get deep tissue work on my back and I felt like a new person at the end. And, they have really different and interesting music choices as well, in stereo no less! I recommend this place for anyone wanting a high-quality, intuitive massage from thoughtful providers, and in the midst of downtown SD. Thank you, Dcompress Downtown!

Massage has always been a part of my life. My mom used to wake me up in the mornings by gently massaging my arms. It definitely beat an annoying alarm clock! My dad used to give me sports massage after volleyball and track tournaments. I always knew that I wanted a career that was challenging and allowed me to help people. Massage has been rewarding beyond my expectations!
