I offer clarinet lessons for $25 per half hour or $40 per hour, $5 more if I travel to your home.

I have been playing clarinet for 15 years. I have extensive experience in wind and orchestra ensembles.

My emphasis is in classical training. I tailor a lesson plan to each student in order to achieve the best results. I am very passionate about teaching and training musicians of all levels.

I have a BA in Music from SDSU, I am centrally located in the Mission Hills neighborhood near downtown with long-term plans to stay in San Diego.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Don't be intimidated by the idea of taking lessons. A good teacher knows how to come along side his students, meet them at their level, and give them the personal guidance and instruction that they need. We're here to help!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are A LOT of teachers out there. This might sound weird coming from a teacher but don't be afraid to shop around. Different teachers have different styles, prices and expectations of their students. Look around until you find the right fit.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My goal is to train musicians, not just teach clarinet. My best teachers helped me discover a love for performing music, they did not just stop at relaying information and technique. My goal is to help my students see the beauty of the discipline of music.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love that teaching clarinet rarely feels like work. I get to do what I love and hopefully ignite that passion in younger students and help older students rediscover the reason they picked up clarinet in the first place.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I would bet that if you asked a group of music teachers what they wanted from their students for Christmas, one thing would top that list: practice. The students who excel under the instruction of a teacher are those who commit themselves to practicing on a daily basis.
