- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was laid off from my job of 5 years and decided to make a career change. Working with animals has always been my passion and I wanted to have a job that I love and enjoy doing every day.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I stayed overnight with a dog whose back legs are paralyzed. He uses a cart to get around but needs help compressing his bladder to relieve himself. He doesn't know anything is wrong with him! He enjoys walks, cuddling on the couch, and treat time as much as any other dog I have worked with. It was very fulfilling to be able to comfort him while his family was away.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that your pet sitter is insured and check out their references. You would do a background check on your babysitter, so please check on your pet sitter as well!
