FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is not complicated. However, there are many factors that affect the cost. For example, I have to consider the scale of the project, complexity of the design, surface to be painted, cost of materials, etc. For budgeting purposes I usually tell clients to estimate between $20-$35 per square foot. Also, it's important to note that I do not charge for initial consultations.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always had a passion for drawing and painting. My first job as an artist was working at a furniture company. They specialized in French Country furnishings and accessories. I was hired to paint decorative motifs on their pieces. When they expanded their showroom they asked if I would do murals throughout the space. That experience essentially launched my mural career.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that the muralist is a good match for your needs. Styles vary. Review their portfolio and ask a lot of questions. If you have photos or resource materials you want the artist to reference, by all means share them!
