FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, I attend monthly meetings with speakers which earn me CEU credits. I also attended the annual NAPO conference in May 2014.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always enjoyed organizing in my own home. After leaving the workforce for several years to be a stay-at-home mom, I was excited to find a field that was flexible to my family's needs but was also fun and inspiring for me. When I discovered that Organizing was an actual profession and that their was a local professional association filled with them, I knew I had found my calling. That was in 2011. I have never looked back.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Definitely insist on meeting the organizer before you begin organizing. I have had several clients that have complained that their personality did not jive with that of the previous organizer they had worked with and that they wished they'd known that from the start. You are hiring someone into a sometimes very intimate and emotional process. You want someone who knows there stuff, but you also want someone you can trust and feel comfortable with.
