FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
In a typical lesson (whether voice or piano) I like to spend time working on technique to begin with. It is essential to warm-up the vocal chords or the fingers before playing. I generally share a warm-up with the students that I think will benefit their playing or singing throughout the lesson. Most of the time it will tie into the piece of music they will be working on later. With younger students these warm-ups can be turned into a game to catch their interest. For the remainder of the lesson the student will work on the piece that they will working on for the next couple of weeks. The focus can either be on beginning to learn the piece of music, improving on notes, rhythm, and vocal technique and learning to play or sing expressively and beautifully. Lessons may vary depending on age and skill level but the main goal is to engage the students and to create a fun learning environment.
