- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ASID requires as part of our Professional Membership we participate in 10 CEU credits over the course of a 2 year period. So, we have to attend seminars, trade shows where there are guest speakers and do online educational courses all of which provide CEU credits. I just registered the last two years which was due Jan. 15, 2014. So, I've got another 2 years go grow again.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was an only child growing up, so I had a lot of spare time on my hands. I loved to rearrange my room every couple months. I enjoyed how the new placement made me feel, fresh and in control. I learned over the years that every transition in my life from grade school on through college, I nested at every new place. It seemed like Interior Design was a perfect fit for me.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Space planning is probably my most requested for commercial jobs. Interior finish remodels such as a new kitchen or bathroom is my second. I'm asked a lot to help with updating lighting and furnishings as well.
