Rebecca has been teaching me yoga for about six months now, and I'm hooked. Don't get me wrong, I don't dream of someday being able to rest comfortably with my big toe from my right foot stuffed into my left ear canal, but I do recognize a need for flexibility in my life and Rebecca has helped me take great strides towards that goal. And she enjoys doing it! I had signed up to attend a particular group class, and everyone else in the group either flaked, or flaked with notice. I was the only person to show up, and at realizing this I had two guesses as to what would happen. Either class would be cancelled, or we'd go on with class but I would become a special project to be whipped into shape. Class _did_ continue, but there was no whipping involved. As the class went on, she'd notice me struggling with something and suggest a modification. Before entering a pose which had been difficult for me, she asked me what about the pose I found challenging. I hadn't ever told her I found it challenging! After a couple very personalized sets of poses and counters, she and I went over some more gentle poses I could work on at home while, say, reading a book or watching a movie. I left that class feeling almost guilty at how much special attention, personalized instruction and... well, plain old fun I took with me that day. I've sat in on a couple of other classes, with other instructors. I've seen people treated in a manner which would have made me feel insecure about my practice. I've watched instructors inform the rest of the class as they correct the pose of a student that "Yoga is to be practiced _every_ _day_." I have never once seen one of Rebecca's students leave looking anything less than pleased with the time and effort they'd spent. Calm, patient and fun, she always encourages you to do well, rather than pushing you to do more.

Rebecca is an incredibly gifted yoga instructor. She shows great patience and can modify poses to meet your individual limitations. She is very kind. She will challenge you if she thinks it is time to expand your practice. I have worked with Rebecca for almost two years and I believe I will continue to work with her for the rest of my life. She has helped me develop more mobility, flexibility, and balance. There aren't enough words to describe how much her teaching has added to my life.
