For the past 7 years, I have focused mostly on Caribbean cuisine which incorporates an array of fresh ingredients such as seafood and exotic fruits and spices. My past clients have loved the fresh and unique flavors of this cuisine, especially on how fun it is to prepare!
For a limited time offer, I'm offering free consultations for either perspective clients looking to hire a full or part-time chef or for clients looking to learn this versatile cuisine either just for themselves or while hosting an event or dinner party.
Cocina de Milagros only uses certified organic and local ingredients with the exception of our Caribbean ingredients. Our Cocina provides regular scheduled at-home meal preparation and/or catering for small residential events.
The rates are reasonable, and we can either bring prepped food to your home or do the preparing there. We also offer personal one-on-one cooking instruction for individuals and/or for people looking to host a unique event where each guest has a chance to participate in the preparation and learn about Caribbean cuisine firsthand.
If you're not familiar with Caribbean cuisine and/or are interested in a sampling of what our menu offers, then we would love to hear from you! We take very seriously our client's food restrictions, allergies and any other dietary concerns. Almost anything in our menu library can be substituted for one thing or another.
Make your next meal delicioso, or let us do it for you. Buen provecho!

A. Not only are you getting the opportunity to have someone cook unique dishes for you and your family or friends, this is also a business where we give those who are interested the chance to learn this cuisine themselves.
A. I love passing on a bit of my family's history and that of our culture. Being here on the West Coast there are not too many opportunities to taste genuine Caribbean cooking. I love seeing a persons face after they have their first bite of a typical Puerto Rican Pastele, (the Puerto Rican version of a Tamale.)
A. They tend to ask about such things as "what ingredients are used in this type of cooking, is it healthy, how is it different then perhaps other Latin cuisine?"
Some answers:
We use only the freshest of ingredients and try to buy what we can locally with the exception of our Caribbean ingredients.
Caribbean cooking is very versatile and can be very rich or more subtle and light. Our more rich foods such as stuffed bananas are served more as appetizers not part of one of our main courses.
What makes Caribbean cuisine stand out is all the different cultural influences that have played a part in making it what is today. From East Africa, the Dutch and Spaniards and of course the Native Taino's who first inhabited these islands.
