I am a seasoned career counselor with over 20 years of experience in providing career counseling and coaching and working in higher education. I possess a master of science degree in counseling from San Francisco State University with concentrations in career counseling and college counseling. I also have an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology. As a former assistant director of counseling in the Career Development Center at Stanford University, I have over 10 years of management experience in training and supervising four professional career counselors. I also provided career counseling to undergraduates, graduates and alumni. I presented workshops on job search topics such as interviewing, resume writing and cover letters, and networking. Formerly, I worked as a career counselor for other SF Bay Area universities including UC Berkeley Career Center, San Jose State University Career Center, and Golden Gate University Career Services. Prior to transitioning into higher education, I worked for over 10 years in the food and baking manufacturing industry, coordinating marketing programs to the B2B sector. I assisted with creating and coordinating collateral material, issuing press releases and organizing trade exhibits. I communicated regularly with trade publications to promote industrial production machinery for an international sales and engineering company. Having this combination of experience and personal career change enables me to address many issues clients discuss about their desire for change, such as finding their passion, anxiety over leaving a dead-end career or job, burnout, rust-out, and other factors that may lead to work/life dissatisfaction.
