Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. I have been involved in leading and directing the East Bay Healing Collective for over 3 1/2 years. I have just passed on the position of director, feeling successful and complete in improving and holding the space for other practitioners to practice their gifts and offerings to the world.
It has been my pleasure and honor to be a massage therapist who loves giving full body massages to many people every week. Because of the changing shape of my body and fluctuating energy levels, I have transitioned to only offering energy work, head and neck massage, as well as reflexology. I feel happy to honor my body and its changing needs and abilities as it preforms the miracle of growing a new human life!
My private healing practice began in San Francisco. It evolved to include Berkeley. In recent months, I have closed my San Francisco office due to moving to Mill Valley. I am in the process of shifting my Berkeley practice to San Rafael, though I will continue the meditation group that meets in Berkeley through supervised teachers and guest facilitators. All of these shifts are the result of my growing family, and I am glad I have the time and space to complete each commitment as I move on and slowly watch what happens next!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Self care is essential for all healing to take place and be maintained. I recommend nutritious food, adequate water, and plenty of rest to all of my clients. These three basic self care strategies are especially helpful directly after a session.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love the diversity of people I work with. I also am forever fascinated by the beauty of integrating approaches to interweave an unique healing experience for whomever desires positive change in their life. Everyone unfolds differently, and I am honored to be a part of healthy transformation.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Q: How low does your sliding scale go?
A: My regular rate is currently $120 an hour. I can slide down as low as $90. For those who need this flexibility, I let them name the number that feels best to them. That amount becomes their rate for at least a year of working together. This is an agreement that is mutually decided upon.
Q: How do Skype and phone sessions work?
A: We simply pick a time and date to meet, scheduled either by phone or email. The client is charged per minute and pays by credit card or PayPal at the end of the session.
Q: How do email sessions work?
A: A client may email me whatever is present for them. I receive the inquiry and charge for the amount of time it takes to type a response. The client pays by credit card or PayPal.
Q: What is your Cancelation Policy?
A: I require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, the client is responsible for the full amount of the original session.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. In order to stay educated in my field of integrated healing, I do many things. I read avidly, stay in contact with my teachers, receive healing work for myself, and for my massage license there are continuing education studies that are required. In addition, I consult with other healing professionals.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. I am currently working on providing downloadable services on my website. Joining the land of eCommerce is appropriate in this time period of technology. I hope to offer many useful meditations, an eBook, and links to helpful purchases for overall health and well being.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. I charge an hourly rate for all my sessions. My full rate is $120, which means for a 90 minute session the total price is $180. In person sessions always are an hour minimum. Because Skype, phone, and email are charged by the minute an example of a 30 minute session would be $60.
All of the above applies for my sliding scale as well, except that the hourly rate may be as low as $90.
Returned checks result in a $30 fee.
Late cancelations and rescheduled sessions (less than 24 hours notice) result in the client being responsible for the full cost of the original service.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Educate and heal yourself completely. This means continue on your path of education and healing even and especially while practicing your modality. Health and healing are infinite! There is no destination, only continued learning and enjoyment along the way.
Q. What are you currently working on improving?
A. I am currently working on updating and improving my website. (www.dragonflybay.com) When I became pregnant this past spring, I was shuttled on an entire life transition that I am indeed grateful for and working to keep up with! My services and offerings have changed, so I look forward to my work being accurately reflected on my beloved site.
